I'm Miles. I run reflective workshops and CPD programmes for charities, education, and public services — the kind of sessions staff actually want to be in.

Programmes
Multi-session CPD on purpose, communication, boundaries, and burnout. Built around your context.
Advisory
Speaking, panels, and strategy support for organisations rethinking how they look after their people.
Fewer than half of charity workers say their work supports their own mental health. Most organisations know they should be doing more — they're just not sure what, or how, or where to start. That's the gap I work in. Not as a fix, but as somewhere to begin.
About
I’ve led mental health and youth-focused programmes across education and community settings. I’ve sat on panels, written strategy, run workshops in rooms that needed them and rooms that didn’t.
I’ve also been the person quietly burning out in the corner of an open-plan office, pretending I had it together. That second bit is why this work exists.
Most CPD treats staff like a resource to be extracted from — another day off the timetable, another box to tick. I want to do it differently. The work I run is reflective, grounded, and built on the assumption that the people doing the job already know more than the slide deck.
Outside of this, I write and perform poetry. It’s part of the same practice — paying attention, naming what’s actually in the room.
What people say
Miles has a rare ability to hold a room where people feel safe enough to think aloud, disagree, and explore difficult ideas without fear. The young people came back week after week.
Miles has a unique ability to create safe, inclusive, and engaging spaces where both staff and students feel comfortable reflecting, expressing themselves, and engaging meaningfully with important themes. He brings warmth, professionalism, and a relational approach that leaves a lasting impact.
Module 1
A reflective session for individuals and teams who’ve lost sight of what brought them to this work. We look at what’s shaped your career so far, what matters now, and what’s actually within your power to change. You’ll leave with a personal framework you can come back to.
Best for: Teams experiencing low morale, burnout, or stagnation.
Module 2
Practical tools for navigating the everyday mess of working in complex organisations. We strengthen reflective thinking, structured problem-solving, and the soft skills that nobody trains you in but everybody needs. Can be run for frontline staff, support staff, or mixed teams — the mixed version is particularly good for breaking down silos.
Best for: Teams who need to work better together without restructuring.
Module 3
Where do you end and the job begin? This session is about clarifying your remit, separating identity from outcomes, and learning to set emotional and professional limits in environments that often don’t respect them. Built for fast-paced settings where burnout is the default.
Best for: Anyone whose job description has quietly tripled in the last two years.
Workshop
A practical session for organisations where teams aren’t talking to each other properly. We map where collaboration breaks down, build understanding across roles, and develop concrete ways to work together better. Strengthens trust and shared ownership without a single icebreaker.
Workshop
Most communication problems aren’t communication problems — they’re clarity problems. This session looks at what’s actually being said, how it’s landing, and where messages are getting lost. You leave with shared principles your team can actually use.
Workshop
For organisations growing fast or changing shape, where nobody’s quite sure who owns what anymore. We work through roles, remits, and how decisions get made, and rebuild a shared sense of purpose from the ground up.
Workshop
Honest, reflective space for conversations about race, power, and prejudice at work. We look at how bias shows up in systems and behaviours, and what it actually takes to move from good intention to changed practice. This is not a tick-box session.
Bespoke
If none of the above is quite right, I also build sessions and longer pieces of work from scratch — drawing on whatever’s actually going on in your organisation rather than dropping in a template. Most useful for senior leaders working through specific or long-running challenges around performance, efficiency, or funding.
I also run workshops built around spoken word and poetry — same reflective practice, in a more creative shape. Useful for teams that want a different kind of space, or for events that need something less conventional than a slide deck.
